Overview
Project Brief
Indonesian children in the golden age (3-6 years old) are most likely to explore things and learn directly from their surroundings. At this age, they start to learn formal education and develop their language skills. But at the same time, as this is their active ages, children tend to easily get distracted or get bored in learning process. Since children around that age already have natural curiosity, it's best to make the learning process even more engaging. By combining multisensory aspects, children could have a better learning experience and easier understanding of the topic through variety of contents that provide an engaging learning material with kids-friendly design.
Target Users
Parents who has kid aged 3-6 years old
Research
Research Process
Research conducted through in-depth interview and desk research. From desk research, introducing english since early childhood are needed for parents. By introducing English, their kids are being familiar with the language and it will help kids' future life.

Through interviews, we conducted to five parents at the golden age and four of them wanted their kids able to speak english when they get to school. But three of them are aware to start introducing english to their kids in golden age. Almost all parents noticed that their kids have high curiosity and loves to explore. It is a precious time for kids to learn. Kids who had not familiarity with English, had to face struggle in learning English while in school.

Solution Concept
As the children at aged 3-6 y.o loves to explore and have high curiosity, to keep them engaged while learning English is important. Implemented of easy design flows and triggered multi-sensory aspects (by image, colors, sounds) can make the learning process more engaging so children will spend more time and be more focused.

To create different experiences to young children with high curiosity, within the app, children can easily access the feature by recognizing object items surrounding the kids, listen to dictational-word, and receive feedback to engage children attention. So that, besides the learning activity, the app can engage the children to explore.

As parents, they can let their kids explore and build familiarity with English words through object that most common in daily life. Parents also can guide the kids to find the items that children were struggled with.

Reflection
Takeaways
The most challenging project that I have done. How to create a seamless design and flow that could make children keep engage with the content material. Despite of the challenge I found with the team, I learned many things in completing the project. Beside many the design aspects that I need to implement, I also learned children behavior.
